James Surls’ exhibition planned at Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma

NORMAN – For those who enjoy seeing sculptor James Surls in action, the artist will finish a complete drawing on Sept. 29 at Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art on the University of Oklahoma campus.

Surls and OU share a long history dating back about 30 years. His first exposition, namedVisions 1974-1984, was in 1986.

Now, an exhibition of Surls’ sculptures and drawings will open Oct. 2 and continue through Jan. 3, retracing the artist’s works from the past two years.

Two of Surls’ sculptures are already on the OU campus.
